This is a follow-up to our incredibly popular, fresh and bright, slightly sour Apple Harvest donut from the first two weeks of October.
This new take on an apple seasonal evokes more of the classically fall, baked, herbed apple flavor that’s just perfect for a crisp fall day, paired with a good cup of hot coffee, or apple cider.
Once again, our chef harvests local varieties of apples. He then cooks them down in cinnamon, brown sugar, and citrus zest. A fresh-ground thyme glaze is created from scratch in-house, and we dip each donut in that, before finishing it with a quenelle of our unique apple combination. Finished with a small sprig or two of fresh Thyme from the greenhouse.
